Využití bylin v procesu úsporného hospodaření s vodou
Knotková, Kateřina
The presented master study is focused on sustainable rain water management with emphasis on proper use of plants in the process. This thesis connects information from foreign countries and puts them into context of Czechclimatic conditions and Czechlegal and technical standards. It defines term “dešťový záhon“ (rain flower bed) as a landscape element for rainwater infiltration that combines aesthetical, ecological and water management functions. Technical aspect and assortment of usable plant species is critically evaluated. Suitable technical variants are “vsakovací průleh” (rain garden), “vsakovací průleh s rýhou” (bioretencion system) a “vsakovací průleh s rýhou a regulovaným odtokem” (bioretencion system). The study includes also few examples of realized rain water management solutions. Drought tolerant species looks surprisingly as most promising for use in “rain flower beds“. Combination of annual, biennial etc. plants is possible; however perennials are most promising, while shrubs and trees usage is limited. “Rain flower bed“ can be established by plantingor sowing. Both having its pros and cons the combination of these two approaches is apparently best, because sowing allows reduce initial costs of new greenery, while planted perennials prevents erosion and operate as structural plants. Additionally 30 plant species were tested, whether they are usable for direct sowing. Experiment was established within the grant project IGA - ZF/2018 - AP001 on April 2018 in Mendeleum grounds of Faculty of Horticulture, Lednice. Preliminary results show low germination rates that are significantly dependent on climatic conditions. Of the 30 only six can recommend for now: Achillea ptarmica, Asclepias tuberosa, Cichorium intybus, Coreopsis lanceolata ´Sterntaller´, Phuopsis stylosa, Oenothera biennis. Better results can be probably achieved by sowing plants in autumn, however results of the autumn part of the experiment will be known after submission of this work.
Hodnocení vybraných vlastností taxonů suchých stanovišť
Březinová, Zdeňka
In the bachelor thesis is collected information that deals with the creation of naturalistic and ecological plantings with a narrower focus on perennial flower beds tolerating dry environment and are established on direct sowing. The experimental part follows the ongoing research project "Evaluation of perennials for the purpose of compiling mixtures with high aesthetic value based on direct sowing" solved within the framework of the internal research grant IGA-ZF / 2018 - AP001 at the Department of Planting Design and Maintenance at the Faculty of Horticulture of Mendel University in Lednice. In fifteen selected taxa, the emergence of seeds was the evaluative attribute. The absolute number of emerging seeds on the sowing area, the rate and progression of emergence of taxa were also evaluated. Finally, a selection of taxa of perennial that are potentially suitable for compilation of mixtures with a higher aesthetic value which were based on direct sowing in the conditions of the Czech Republic was created.
Využití letničkových záhonů z přímých výsevů v urbánním prostoru. =: The use of annual flower beds raised by direct sowing in urban space. /
Klasová, Kristýna
This dissertation thesis deals with the issue of annual flower beds raised by direct sowing which are located in urban space. The literary part of this thesis presents theoretical data of this issue. These data are followed by work in the experimental part which tries to find the answers to unsatisfactorily tackled parts of this issue and to deepen existing knowledge to such an extent that a wider use of annual beds based on direct sowing in Czech public greenery could be possible. In order to fulfill this main goal, several sub-themes were dealt with. In the practical part of this thesis a field research was done. Moodel objects were selected and visited. They were especially foreign ones because at the time when the dissertation work was started the use of annual flower beds from direct sawing was rather exceptional. In total, 12 cities with 87 beds were visited. On the basis of the obtained data the typology of areas for the use of annual flower beds from direct sowing was elaborated. In this way the possibilities of using annual beds from direct sowing in urban space were defined with focus on their limits and potential. The experimental part consists of two separate experiments. The first one focuses on verification of selected technologies for establishment of annual flower beds from direct sowing which would eliminate the occurrence of unwanted annual weeds as much as possible. This experiment was repeated in 2013, 2014 and 2015. The results of each year were used to improve the technologies validated in the years to follow. 10 final variants of founding technologies were verified in 2015. For these final technologies material and labor costs for foundation and care have also been set. The second experiment focuses on verifying new potentially suitable species and cultivars of annuals for direct sowing which would extend the range of usually used annuals. 45 taxa of annuals were verified in 2014, in 2015 the experiment was extended and 70 taxa of annuals were verified. The last part of the thesis deals with the transfer of experience into practice. In this part the model technologies were verified in public urban space in the towns of Strakonice, Plzeň, Lednice, Brno and others. The presented dissertation summarizes the knowledge in the field of annual flower beds raised by direct sowing which the author obtained in 6 years.
Kvetoucí bylinné směsi v zahradní a krajinářské architektuře
Horký, Martin
Diploma thesis is focused on blooming herbaceous mixes and possible ways of using them in landscape architecture designing. Related terms connected to the term of blooming herbaceous mixes are characterized by several authors. Brief history of using meadows in landscape architecture and particular cathegories of herbaceous mixes are another part of the work as well as possible ways of using herbaceous mixtures by describing existing realizations. Landscape architecture study, which is based on several analysis, is included in design part of the thesis. There was created housing area and a recreational space serving for village inhabittants as well as for tourists. Emphasis was placed on proper using of herbaceous mixes and the main focus was on perennial herbaceous mixes established by sowing. There was created establishing technology with costing for assembled plant mixes.
Květinové záhony z přímých výsevů
Novosadová, Vladěna
The dissertation dealt with sowing annuals in the establishment of flowerbeds from direct sowing of taxon which are potentially suitable for autumn and spring sowing. In the experimental part was attempted to annuals of direct sowing. There were realized three sowings, in autumn 2013 and 2014 and in spring 2014, when were sown 26 same taxon of the seed. The aim of the experiment was evaluated the germination of seeds, height and flowering taxon, aesthetic effect of fetus, effect of taxon in the composition and suitability growing and seeding taxon. Based on all these results there were performed the comparison and evaluation and the conclusions and recommendations were defined for following experiments and practice. After evaluation all the results, interesting and perspective annuals for directautumn sowing appeared Ammi visnaga (L.) Lam., Bupleurum rotundifolium L., Clarkia pulchella Pursh. 'Mix', Consolida ambiqua (L.) P. W. Ball & Heywod. 'Hyacintokvětá', Nigella damascena L. 'Cramer s Plum', Nigella orientalis L., Papaver rhoeas L. 'Shirley Double Mixed'. There were evaluated the best and the most perspective annuals for direct spring sowing - Borago officinalis L., Bupleurum rotundifolium L., Calendula officinalis L. 'Pacific Beauty Směs', Consolida ambiqua (L.) P. W. Ball & Heywod. 'Hyacintokvětá', Cosmos bipinnatus Car. 'Sonata', Cosmos sulphureus Car. 'Redcrest', Nigella damascena L. 'Cramer s Plum'..

Experimentální ověření možnosti použití přímého výsevu vybraných druhů dřevin pro rekultivaci erozí postižených půd - klíčení a počáteční růst dřevin v lokalitě Hurufa Shamena, Etiopie.
Buchtová, Barbora
In my bachelor's thesis there I deal with the problematic of seed germination in the experimental plots in the village Hurufa Shamena in Ethiopia. In large areas there came to degradation of vegetation because of trees' and bushes' grubbing and the herbal vegetation was also destroyed by cattle grazing. Presently there is problem with the soil erosion that is scoured by heavy rains in the wet season of the year. Because of that there appear areas without any vegetation and with deep erosion furrows. Reforestation of these areas is problematic and currently it is done with seedlings that were precultivated in nurseries. Growing of seedlings in nurseries brings another costs that could be eliminated if there is used the direct seeding of seeds for reforestation into the affected areas. On that ground there were based our experimental plots to identify the wood species that are capable to sprout unaided in these conditions and growth on, so that they could be used for forestation by direct seeding.

The aim of this thesis was to evaluate and identify species that are able to germinate and survive drought stress in erosion affected area in central Ethiopia. In addressing the issue of recultivation of soils degraded by erosion a method of direct sowing was utilized. Nine representatives of the Fabaceae family were chosen in the selection proces. The essence of the experiment was to evaluate the growth rate and the height of each individual. The experiment established that the most suitable species for recultivation through direct sowing in central Ethiopia are Acacia tortilis that underwent pre-sowing treatment of seeds, Sesbania bispinossa with or even without pre-sowing treatment and Acacia saligna with pre-sowing treatment. The findings of this thesis open up possibilities to be followed within the proces of recultivation.

Veselský, Marek
The aim of the study was to compare the success rate of germination and survival rate of selected tree species with of soil moisture and temperature trough the course of time. 20 tree species (indigenous and non-indigenous) planted on an experimental plot in Hurufi Shamen, Ethiopia were tested for drought susceptibility and tolerance. Thesis includes an evaluation of the survival success rate of individual species. Two prospective species Acacia saligna with treatment and Dodonaea viscosa were found based on the information obtained. These species are able to survive on degraded soils and can be used for land recultivation through direct sowing in areas with similar natural conditions such as the location of the experimental area. The worst performance showed species Juniperus procera and Pinus patula.
